Off-Grid

A system completely independent from the utility grid: all the energy consumed must be produced (solar panels) and stored (batteries). Recommended for remote locations or where grid connection is difficult, expensive, or unreliable.

Advantages

  • Total independence from the utility grid.

  • Ideal for remote locations.

  • Full control over the system.

  • Can be more cost-effective long term if grid connection is expensive or unfeasible.

nterconnected to the Grid – Full Backup

Considerations

  • Higher upfront cost due to large battery and inverter requirements, plus optional generator.

  • Requires precise sizing of daily consumption and desired autonomy (how many days without sun the system should withstand).

Main Components

  • Solar panels.

  • Charge controller.

  • Battery bank.

  • Inverter/charger.

  • Optional backup system (diesel or alternative generator) for long periods without sun.

  • Electrical distribution, proper wiring, structural supports, and electrical protections.

  • System monitoring: solar production, battery bank status, and consumption.
