Solar Energy for El Dátil: Inauguration of the Solar Kiosk
At Lifestyle Energy, we believe that the energy transition begins within our communities. That is why we are proud to have been part of the inauguration of the Solar Kiosk in El Dátil, Mulegé, Baja California Sur, on August 12 th. This project now provides clean and reliable energy to more than 500 residents of this rural town.
A Step Towards Community Energy Transition
The social energy model, promoted by CERCA in collaboration with the Secretariat of Urban Planning, Infrastructure, and Mobility (SEPIUM) of the Government of Baja California Sur, seeks to deliver sustainable energy solutions to communities located far from the national grid.
The Solar Kiosk is a compact system designed to meet the collective energy needs of rural towns, improving quality of life by powering essential spaces such as:
With this project, the youth of El Dátil now have access to clean energy for their educational, cultural, and recreational activities.
The Tele-high school
The multi-use sports court
The school cafeteria
And the community library
Elementary school and multipurpose court, El Dátil, B.C.S.
Lifestyle Energy’s Participation
Our company contributed in two key phases:
Initial system installation
Months before the official inauguration, part of our technical team supported the installation and commissioning of the Solar Kiosk, which integrates into a single cabinet the following components: Victron inverter, charge controller, connection busbar, and Pylontech battery, along with solar modules installed on the roofs of the primary school and tele-high school.
System maintenance and optimization
During the inauguration event, our technicians also carried out maintenance on an existing system that powered the town’s primary school. This system was composed of Out Back equipment with lead-acid batteries, ensuring that everything continued to operate safely and reliably for the community.
A Model of Energy with a Vision for the Future
The Solar Kiosk is more than just a set of components—it is a tool for social development, allowing remote communities to access education, culture, and essential services.
At Lifestyle Energy, we are honored to contribute our renewable energy expertise to projects like this one, which make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
